ABOUT ME

My name is Will Collier, a Tennessee native that moved to the greater D.C. area seven years ago. Growing up, sports were a big part of my life. I played youth hockey and soccer, as well as varsity high school lacrosse. I love to watch hockey and football, and I'm a diehard Nashville Predators and Memphis Grizzlies fan. Some of my other hobbies are golf, boating, fishing, and weightlifting.

As a kid I always loved to be creative and express myself wherever I could, whether it was on paper drawing in class, or building massive Lego sets. When I found video editing, I instantly fell in love, using it as an outlet for my creative mind and my video game highlights at the time. I've been editing videos for six years now, and am incredibly happy that my childhood passion has been turned into a possible career for myself.

Personal Values

The values I was taught by my parents have played a large role in my life. I believe very strongly that hard work equals success, thanks mostly to my father, Julian, who has instilled that work ethic in me since I was very young. I was also taught to be kind, forgiving, and generous by my mother. I recently graduated from an all-boys boarding school in central Virginia called Blue Ridge School, which has taught me time management and other useful skills which are applicable to my work life.

My father attended the University of Kentucky in the alongside my mother. I owe so much to them and am forever grateful for all they've done for me.

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Excellent knowledge of Adobe After Effects with five to six years of experience creating videos.

• Currently interning at the University of Kentucky athletic video department.

• Excellent knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro with three years experience creating videos.

• Proficient knowledge of Sony digital mirrorless cameras and accompanying equipment with three years experience.

• Proficient knowledge of in-game sports videography and cinematography techniques to capture sideline game footage with three years experience.

• Proficient knowledge of Ableton Live studio with six years experience making music and four years experience in sound design.

• Four years work experience in a part-time leadership role in the Fairfax County park system.

• Worked with various companies/organizations such as Committed Combine and William Monroe Highschool football players.

• One year sports media and communications intern at the Blue Ridge School.
